Our silk design for Woodford Reserve’s Mint Julep program / Derby 146

For 3 consecutive years, Bourbon Cousins has designed the silk that cradles Woodford Reserve’s $1000 silver Mint Julep cup. As the Derby’s presenting sponsor, Woodford Reserve typically hosts an Event tent within Churchill Downs for guests that purchase the commemorative silver julep cups. You’ll see the event staff and bartenders wearing the same silk pattern on their bow ties, scarves and pocket squares. This year may look a bit different due to the Corona virus.

This year’s silk pattern design honors Jockey Diane Crump, the first female jockey to ride in the Derby in 1970, 50 years ago. It also incorporates horse owner & Woodford Reserve founder, WL Lyons Brown’s turquoise & white silks replicated inside the bottle shape pattern.

As cousins raised in Kentucky, we take much pride in the state’s rich bourbon and horse racing heritage and truly enjoy being part of the Julep Cup initiative.

This year, proceeds from the Mint Julep Sale benefit The Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund.

The julep cups can be purchased on a special website: https://www.woodfordreservemintjulep.com/
